About
I am a contemporary Minhwa artist based in San Francisco, CA.
Artist Statement
My practice is rooted in a traditional Korean painting tradition with centuries of cultural history. Using traditional techniques and materials, I approach Minhwa as a living tradition, interpreting it through a modern lens and connecting it to contemporary life.
I seek beauty, culture, and inner life. Through my art practice, I slow down and return to myself. My art creates a visual pause that make space to feel more steady, resilient, and renewed.
As Korean culture becomes increasingly popular across the world, my art focuses on the slower, contemplative side. Drawing from the historical techniques and styles of Minhwa, I explore how Korean aesthetics can live in the contemporary life.
